Inspiration Sources of Cloud Gate Dance Theater of Taiwan
Résumé
The study about the work of Taiwanese choreographer Lin Hwai Min articulates an in-depth understanding of both his creative process, but also his stylistic and somatic choices which will generate the collective corporeality of the contemporary dance company Cloud Gate Dance Theater of Taiwan, considered the first contemporary dance company in “any Chinese speaking community” and in Asia. Different themes and phases of creation are identified to better understand his choreographic journey.
L’étude au sujet du travail du chorégraphe taiwanais Lin Hwai Min articule une compréhension approfondie à la fois de son processus de création, mais aussi de ses choix stylistiques et somatiques qui vont engendrer la corporéité collective de la compagnie de danse contemporaine Cloud Gate Dance Theater of Taiwan, considérée comme la première compagnie de danse contemporaine dans « any Chinese speaking community » et en Asie. Différentes thématiques et phases de création sont décelées pour mieux comprendre son parcours chorégraphique.
