Validation d'une version francophone de l'Echelle de Peur de l'Evaluation Négative (FNE) et de l'Echelle d'Evitement et de Détresse Sociale (SAD)
Résumé
The Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale and the Social Avoidance and Distress Scale measure core facets of the social anxiety. If validation studies and norms exist for the original versions, they are missing for the French-speaking versions. The aim of the present study is to provide validation and norms for the French version of these two scales. The samples consisted in 89 participants suffering from social phobia, 38 participants suffering from another anxious disorder and of 160 controls participants. On the one hand, the internal consistency and ability of both scales to distinguish social phobics from the two other groups are satisfying. The significant but weak correlations between the two scales indicate that they assess partly distinct facets of social anxiety. On the other hand, the correlations between the two scales and measurements of general anxiety and depression are significant. Finally, normative data based on the general population are presented for both scales.
