The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into research data management (RDM) creates promising opportunities to improve the analysis and presentation of research activities and their results. This entry examines the challenges and solutions for the effective integration of AI techniques into existing research infrastructures and RDM. Based on a synthesis of published research, various aspects of AI method integration are analysed, including technical requirements, data management, data protection, ethical aspects, and user acceptance. The findings point out the necessity of adopting a comprehensive approach to seamlessly integrate AI into RDM and research management workflows, addressing both technical and social issues.
