Technological issues with multimodal touch input devices

Résumé

Tactile devices have drawn increasing research attention in the last decades. Although different techniques and technologies have been designed and developed to stimulate our tactile mechanoreceptors, a challenge is to combine this stimulation with other sense modalities such as visual and auditory. In this talk, we will review the hardware designs that allow robustness, reliability, modularity and transportability of the next generation multimodal tactile interfaces.
