Migración y emancipación: un análisis del itinerario vital y profesional de Josefina Carabias
Résumé
This article analyses the significance of the migratory experience in the life and professional trajectories of the journalist Josefina Carabias (1908-1980): from Arenas de San Pedro to Madrid, from her exile in France to her return to Spain, from her departure as a correspondent in Washington and Paris, to her return to Spain as a columnist. As the analysis shows, each experience is intimately linked to the others and at the same time turns out to be another step in another itinerary, not only geographical but also political, social and personal: a commitment to the emancipation of women. This work shows the emancipatory dimension of this migratory experience for the journalist herself and, beyond that, it also exposes how Josefina Carabias used this experience as a steppingstone toward progressive activism.
