Grey Literature
Résumé
Grey literature, emerging in the latter 20th century, denotes various document types beyond the usual publishing mainstream. Often (mis)understood as unpublished and not peer reviewed, it encompasses diverse document types such as reports, theses, and government documents. Despite digital advancements enhancing accessibility, challenges persist: poor referencing and preservation threaten sustainability. Grey literature, ubiquitous globally, finds increasing dissemination through open access channels like repositories and preprint servers, amplifying its impact in fields like public policy. Open science׳s rise promises greater visibility, yet poses challenges of quality control and long-term preservation. Amidst these transformations, artificial intelligence offers both solutions and complexities, reshaping the landscape of grey literature dissemination and discovery.
